Cúram Certification Program – At a Glance

Introduction

Cúram Certifications enable your Cúram business analysis and development professionals to validate their knowledge of Cúram. By earning a Cúram Certification, candidates demonstrate that they have the foundational knowledge required to work as Cúram business analysts or developers on Cúram implementation projects.

Cúram Certification tests are supported by learning paths, sandbox environments, and preparation guidelines. Cúram Certification requirements are regularly evaluated and updated to ensure that each Certification Test maintains its relevance to the Cúram space, keeping the knowledge and skills of Cúram professionals up to date. Cúram Certifications also showcase the value of Cúram Certified Professionals to their implementation project.

Current Certifications

Merative currently offers two Cúram certifications:

  • Cúram Certified Developer – The Cúram V8.X Developer Certification consists of the following two tests:
    • C004 – Cúram V8.X ADE – Accreditation
    • C005 – Cúram V8.X Customization – Certification

The Certification validate the skillset that an experienced Java developer requires to effectively use the Cúram Application Development Environment on a Cúram implementation project.

 

  • Cúram Certified Business Analyst – This entry-level certification test is intended for business analysts (BAs), consultants, testers, and other personnel who would like to acquire the foundational Cúram knowledge required by Cúram implementation projects.

 

Each certification is product version-specific, and the Cúram Education Team defines a unique certification for every major release of Cúram. Each unique certification is associated with a corresponding certification test, and a test taker is awarded the certification when they pass the relevant test.

Prerequisite Training

Cúram Certification tests are supported by specific training courses. In other words, you take a specific course or courses to prepare for the associated Certification Test.

The Cúram Education Team provides two learning paths for this purpose, namely, Business and Technical.

Cúram BA Tests

To prepare for the Certified Business Analyst test, you need to take the following course:

  • CUR088 – Fundamentals of the Merative Cúram Platform for Business Analysts 8.X

Which prepares you for the following test:

  • C003 – Cúram V8.X Business Analysis – Certification

Cúram Developer Certification Tests

The following courses prepare you for the Certified Application Developer tests:

  • CUR090 – Merative Cúram for Developers (ADE) 8.X
  • CUR091 – Merative Cúram for Developers (Customization) 8.X
    • It is more effective to focus on one test per day rather than splitting your attention between two different tests over the course of a single day.

You take the ADE course (CUR090) to prepare for the ADE test (C004). In turn, the Customization course (CUR091) enables you to prepare for the Customization test (C005). The following FAQ explains the two-test structure:

Question: How do I become a full Cúram V8.X Certified Developer?
Answer: You must pass both Developer Tests (C004 and C005) to gain full certification and be designated a Cúram Certified Developer.

Question: Can I take just one of the Developer Tests? And what credential do I get if I pass?
Answer: It depends on the credential that you want to gain. Yes, you can take C004 – ADE as a standalone test. If you pass C004, you get a Cúram Accreditation instead of a Cúram Certification and are designated a Cúram Accredited Developer. To be designated a Cúram Certified Developer, you must pass both tests, namely, C004 – ADE and C005 – Customization.

Question: Can I take the Customization test only?
Answer: No, you can only take Test C004 – ADE as a standalone credential. People who intend to become a full Cúram Certified Developer must take the Customization test after the ADE test.

Question: Can I take both tests on the same day?
Answer: The Cúram Education Team recommends that you take C004 and C005 in numerical sequence and on separate days for the following reasons:
 

  • If you fail C004, you may not be in the right frame of mind to take another Certification Test on the same day.
  • If you fail C004 and decide not to take C005 on the same day, you will not be able to cancel and reschedule your original booking for C005 without being charged again.
  • The availability of Prometric remote proctors varies day-to-day. Depending on cumulative demand and how far in advance you make a booking, you may not be able to arrange two back-to-back appointments.
  • You need to pass both tests (C004 and C005) to become a Cúram Certified Developer. You do not earn any standalone credential for passing Test C005 – Customization on its own.

 

Certification Design

Cúram Certification tests are developed and maintained according to industry-standard psychometric principles. These principles enable the Cúram Education Team to define a stringent process for the creation and review of the questions in each certification test. The process begins with an analysis of the functional roles mentioned above, followed by the creation and verification of test questions by an experienced panel of Cúram SMEs. The passing score for each certification test is then determined by a standard-setting procedure. The Cúram Education Team monitors test results on an ongoing basis.
