Welcome to the International Board of Specialty Certification (IBSC) examination portal. This portal is designed to provide detailed information about eligibility, scheduling, and other important information to make the process efficient and easy to understand.
The IBSC provides a standardized approach to competency validation that relies on a single, independent, profession-based, and collaborative Board from the paramedicine community. The IBSC examinations for Certified Community Paramedic (CP-C®), Certified Critical Care Paramedic (CCP-C®), Certified Flight Paramedic (FP-C®), Certified Tactical Paramedic (TP-C®), Certified Tactical Responder (TR-C®), and the Certified Wilderness Paramedic (WP-C) examinations are well established and have become the recognized standard for competency by providers around the world.
Other examinations, such as the Certified Designated Infection Control Officer (DICO-C) was developed in partnership with the National Association of Public Safety Infection Control Officers (www.NAPSICO.org), and the Certified Medical Transport Safety Professional (MTSP-C®) – was developed in partnership with the Association of Air Medical Services (www.AAMS.org) – are ways the IBSC continues to lead in specialty certification for EMS, fire, law enforcement, public safety, and our military communities.
The IBSC offers the only specialty examination process of its kind for professionals working in community medicine, critical care and air medical transport, infection control, tactical, remote, and austere environments. Currently, there are more than 10,000 IBSC certified specialty providers worldwide.
IBSC offers the following three testing methods:
- Computer Based Testing (CBT) – delivered at Prometric Testing Centers.
- Onsite Testing – available at specific locations (e.g.: educational conferences or sponsored test sites) delivered via the IBSC-Mobile Exam Delivery (MED) – delivered on-site, using IBSC maintained laptop computers.
- ProProctor™ – Remote Live Proctoring (RPT) – utilizes your internet connected computer, camera, and microphone at any location. (You must confirm your computer meets these requirements by performing a system check prior to scheduling your examination.)
