The CFPC - The Voice of Family Medicine in Canada
The College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC) is the professional organization responsible for establishing standards for the training, certification and lifelong education of family physicians and for advocating on behalf of the specialty of family medicine, family physicians and their patients.
The CFPC accredits postgraduate family medicine training in Canada’s 17 medical schools. You can schedule your testing appointment once you receive an emailed invitation from CFPC. Learn more about the tests offered by Prometric by visiting the CFPC website.
There are now two ways to take your exam. As a candidate you have the option to take your exam either in a Prometric Testing Center or through a remotely proctored internet enabled private location of your choice where you must provide a computer with a camera, microphone and a stable internet connection. You will be able to take the exam online while a Prometric proctor is overseeing the examination process remotely.
Your Eligibility ID is still required to schedule your exam.

2. To schedule a Remotely Proctored Exam

Confirm your computer’s compatibility to allow remote proctoring first. Online, remote exams are offered using Prometric’s ProProctor™ application. To confirm that your computer and network will allow testing through ProProctor™ visit click here.
Note: The ProProctor standard minimal requirement for screen resolution (1024 x 768) does not provide an optimal experience for CFPC’s short answer management problem (SAMP) question type. Due to the unique nature of the SAMP presentation, a screen resolution of at least1920 x 1080 at 100% scaling is mandatory. Computers that do not meet this standard will not be detected during the system check because they may meet the minimum standard for compatibility with the platform, but will not meet the minimum standard for a CFPC SAMP examination. You are responsible to make sure this requirement is met. If the computer you intend to use on examination day does not meet this specification, the test must be scheduled at a testing center. If you ignore this specification, you will have a less than optimal testing experience that will not be considered grounds for reconsideration of an unsuccessful result.
For more information about remote testing review the ProProctor User Guide click here.

Note: At this time Readiness Agents and Proctors are English speaking only. Candidates who require only French speaking facilitation, should schedule to take the examination at a bilingual test center in Ottawa, or a test center located in the province of Quebec.
After scheduling your exam, please review your appointment confirmation email to ensure that you have the correct exam, date, time, and testing location.
