Welcome! Most National Fire Protection Association exams are now available in two ways, at either a Prometric brick and mortar test center or in a remotely proctored environment that you can access on a personal or work computer through Prometric’s ProProctor™ application. Remotely proctored exams allow you to take a certification exam without traveling to a testing center.
Before deciding to choose a remotely proctored exam, please take a moment to review the following
- To take this remotely proctored exam, you need a computer that has a camera, microphone, speakers, or headphones. You will also need an internet connection. You will have to install an application before you take the test. Tablets, smart phones, and other mobile devices cannot be used to take the exam and are prohibited. You will be able to take the exam online while a Prometric proctor is overseeing the examination process remotely. By choosing a remote proctored exam you are responsible for any interruptions. If there are interruptions during the test, your test results may not be valid.
- Confirm that your computer and network meet the minimum requirements by successfully completing a ProProctor™ system check.
- If you are considering taking the Water-Based Inspection, Testing, and Maintenance (WBITM) remotely: While the minimum screen resolution is 1024x768, we recommend that candidates taking the WBITM exam use a monitor set to 1920x1080 with the Size of Text set to 100% so that the References available on-screen during testing render properly.
