GCC Electrical Testing Laboratory (GCCLab) is a world class Electrical Product Testing and Services Hub in the GCC and MENA region, independent authority for testing and certificating High-Voltage, Medium-Voltage and Low-Voltage electrical equipment, act as a third party for failure investigations and arbitration, provide Low Voltage calibration services for electrical equipment and testing tools and provide certification courses for engineers and technicians.
GCCLab offers certification program for Power System Operators (CPSO). The objective is to improve the reliability of the Middle East & North Africa (MENA) electric grids and system operators’ competencies to deliver the intended critical duties and being able to manage system challenges and abnormalities through a continued development program governed and managed by GCC Lab Certification Division.
The certification is designed for system operators, operations support staff, market operators and new engineers who are assigned to control center of power systems and needs to understand the basics of high voltage electric systems and to certify them to fulfil their critical duties with fundamental knowledge that will enable them to operate the system during normal and emergency situations.
Being a Certified System Operator, will provide:
- A competent system operator to operate the system with required knowledge, trust, and capabilities.
- An Improve system reliability and recovery thru high talented and knowledgeable system operators.
For a candidate to be certified, he/she must undergo the certification stages as follows:
- Stage 1: Submit Application Form and complete the Preparatory course.
- Stage 2: Document Review
- Stage 3: Attend and pass the Online Examination (Scheduling thru Prometric Testing Centers)
- Stage 4: Attend the Technical Interview
- Stage 5: Evaluation
- Stage 6: Awarding the certification
Important Information regarding testing in Saudi Arabia
From the 1st August 2021: All test takers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, must have a Green status (immune) in their Tawakkalna Application to enter the test centers. In absence of a Green status (immune), candidates will not be able to take their test.

When scheduling your exam, you will need to provide an e-mail address to which Prometric will send your exam confirmation and the exam results. If you have difficulty scheduling your exam, please utilize the Prometric Service Center.
Reschedule/Cancellation Policy
There is no charge for changing or canceling your exam appointment 30 days or more before a scheduled appointment. Changes made between 5 and 29 days are subject to a $35 fee, paid directly to Prometric at the time of the appointment change. You may not reschedule an exam less than 5 days prior to your appointment. If you fail to show up for an exam or cancel within 5 days of a scheduled appointment, you will be charged the entire test fee.
Exam Results
The test result will be sent to the email address you registered during the enrolment two weeks after completion of your test.
