There are two ways to take the GBCI professional credential exams. You have the option to take the exam at a Prometric Testing Center or as a remotely proctored online exam.
You have the option of taking a Test Drive which will provide you the opportunity to take a 30-minute ‘dry-run” of the complete check-in and test delivery process through Prometric’s test centers or online via the ProProctor platform. To learn about the Test Drive and schedule an appointment, please visit the Test Drive page here.

Scheduling your Exam
1. To schedule a Remotely Proctored online exam
Review the ProProctor User Guide and confirm your computer’s compatibility to allow remote proctoring. Remote proctored online exams are offered using Prometric’s ProProctor application. For a remotely proctored exam, you must supply the computer which must have a camera, microphone and an internet connection and be able to install a lightweight app prior to the test event. You will be able to take the exam online while a Prometric proctor is overseeing the examination process remotely.
To confirm that your computer and network will allow testing through ProProctor, click here.
Note: The readiness check does not assess whether you have the necessary permission levels to install and launch ProProctor, so you should study the ProProctor Software Installation guides (there is one for Windows OS and one for Mac OS).
For best internet connectivity, GBCI recommends that you connect with an Ethernet cable rather than using a wireless connection. Wireless connections are less stable and can lead to sudden disconnections and being dropped from the exam. If this happens, you should relaunch ProProctor to resume your exam. (Note that you will be required to go through the security check again.) If this happens, visit the ProProctor help page and contact ProProctor technical support via chat.
If you are using a wireless connection, position your device where you receive the strongest signal.
Make sure that there are no other devices (phones, tablets, gaming/video streaming devices or TVs) or users connected to your internet connection for the duration of your exam.
If you are using an employer-issued computer, prior to scheduling your exam click here.
For additional information, visit ProProctor’s FAQs and GBCI’s Online Exam FAQs.
After scheduling your exam, please review your appointment confirmation email from Prometric in its entirety to ensure that you have the correct exam, date, and time. Check your spam, clutter and junk email folders regularly prior to your exam for Prometric email communications regarding your exam.
For candidate in need of technical support while taking their ProProctor exam, visit the ProProctor help page and contact ProProctor technical support via chat (this is the fastest method for assistance) or call 800-226-7958. The ProProctor exam support line is available daily from 7 AM - 12:30 AM EDT.
2. To schedule your exam at a Prometric Testing Center
Please Note: Test centers outside of 250 miles (402 km) will not show in the search. If you experience difficulty locating a test center or finding available dates, please contact us using the information below to finish scheduling your exam.

Due to local and regional mandates in some regions, a limited number of Prometric test centers will require candidates to present proof of COVID-19 vaccination in order to test. Candidates required to present vaccination documentation should bring forms provided to them by their healthcare provider at the time of vaccination. To view a complete list of sites that are currently requiring proof of vaccination, please visit Prometric’s Sites Requiring Proof of Vaccination page.
Please note that if you do not comply with this policy, you will not be permitted to test and you will forfeit your exam registration fee.
If you would prefer to reschedule your test center exam for a remotely proctored online exam, you will first need to cancel your exam at the test center, and then follow the link to schedule a remotely proctored online exam. Applicable rescheduling or cancellation fees may apply.
