College of Veterinarians of Ontario
The College of Veterinarians of Ontario (CVO) regulates the practice of veterinary medicine in Ontario. Veterinarians are required to be licensed by the College to practice veterinary medicine in Ontario.
The CVO Jurisprudence exam is an entry-to-practice requirement for licensure as a veterinarian in Ontario. The exam requires applicants to demonstrate knowledge of the legislation that governs the veterinary profession in Ontario. This legislation contains Practice standards, rules about conduct, and expectations for ethical practice. Refer to the CVO website for more information about submitting a licence application and the exam.
The Jurisprudence Exam
You will receive an email with exam booking instructions once you are eligible to take the exam.
The Jurisprudence exam is offered as a computer-based exam on-site at a Prometric Test Centre and online by remote proctor. If you schedule a remote proctored exam, you must review the requirements for testing online and test your computer system to ensure both the technical equipment and environment are appropriate.
For remote proctored exams, please perform the ProProctor system check to confirm your computer’s compatibility.
