BALTIMORE, MD. April 6, 2009 – Michael Brannick, President and CEO of Prometric, Inc., has been appointed to serve on the Prometric Board of Directors effective immediately. Kurt M. Landgraf, Chairman of Prometric and President and CEO of Educational Testing Service (ETS), parent company of Prometric, made the announcement.
Brannick has been President and Chief Executive Officer of Prometric, Inc. since May 2001. Prometric is a $400 million, for profit subsidiary of ETS. It is a market leading, global provider of testing certification and licensure services for a diverse set of customers with testing operations spread across more than 160 countries.
"The unanimous agreement of the Board on Michael's appointment verifies my belief that Prometric's success in the global learning marketplace is directly related to his contributions and leadership," says Landgraf. "He has gained the trust and confidence of the officers and employees of both Prometric and ETS and we look forward to him offering his experience and expertise to the board as they chart the future."
During his tenure at Prometric, Brannick has directed sales and service implementation efforts that have resulted in high client satisfaction, resulting in a number of long-term, multi-million dollar contracts testing Certified Public Accountants under the sponsorship of the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Association of American Medical Colleges, the European Personnel Selection Office and Microsoft and Infosys Corporation. He also managed over $500 million in capital and acquisition expenditures that expanded Prometric's technology capabilities, infrastructure, global reach and customer base.
"I'm honored that ETS has elected me to the Board of Prometric because it is an indication of the trust they place in our management team and the way we run our business," said Brannick. "The decisions we make to steer Prometric are reflective of what we believe will most benefit our clients and customers. Our clients are always our first priority, and our dedication to meeting their needs will continue to get visibility and attention at the highest level."
From 1998 to 2001, Brannick served as President and Chief Operating Officer of Thomson Petersons, a publisher of education search and selection books, tools and materials that was part of the Thomson Learning group of companies previously owned by The Thomson Corporation.
While there he integrated the company into Thomson Learning operations with an emphasis on reengineering financial reporting, inventory control and warehousing systems. He also conceived and implemented the company's move to Internet based product, subscription and advertising sales in 1998-99 and was a key contributor to developing Thomson Learning internet strategies.
