The Solution

Oracle expanded its five-year partnership with Prometric to include the use of Internet-based testing - leveraging the Web to deliver select exams and assessments to Oracle test takers. Currently, Oracle delivers nearly 25% of their certification tests via IBT.

Using Prometric technology, Oracle is able to link its certification training and testing solutions more broadly, expanding the reach of its certification programs. The Internet-based testing solution features thin-client architecture; candidate access and payment control through key codes, eligibility files, promotional codes, vouchers and proctors; real-time Internet authoring and reporting; e-commerce support; multiple language support; and support for multiple item types.

Oracle uses IBT to help enforce its certification training requirement. Prometric and Oracle are working together to expand the IBT item types to included simulations and also to enhance significantly the Proctor Management System. Oracle has awarded over 200,000 Oracle Certified Professional certifications around the world. Acknowledging the outstanding success of their collaboration, Oracle and Prometric have agreed to another 5-year contract.
